Were approached by the client to design a large extension to the rear of this Barn Conversion located in Clitheroe. The scheme was submitted to the local authority under Permitted Development.
The design features a large high-level horizontal slot window measuring almost 12m. The building sits right along the boundary of the site, the high-level window provides sound and visual protection whilst still allowing light into the building.
In contrast to this, the gable of the extension features a large window allowing views of the rural surroundings.
The second phase of the project involved the design of a stable building with adjoining tack room and hay store. The stable block emulates the vernacular style of agricultural architecture with timber cladding and metal roof sheeting.
