Residential New Build, Congleton, Cheshire East
Copse Cottage is a new-build replacement dwelling in Cheshire East.
The secluded site is located on the edge of the Cheshire greenbelt and is surrounded by copse of trees. Approached by a sweeping driveway, the contemporary home has been designed with two wings connected via a glazed link.
The south facing elevation is largely glazed, allowing light to flood the interior and allowing glimpses of the rural views beyond.
Stage 4 – Technical Design
In support of local industries and to reduce the carbon footprint of the building, a local stone has been chosen to clad the ground floor whilst a contrasting dark timber cladding has been selected for the first floor, giving a contemporary appearance whilst remaining sympathetic to the character of the local barns.
To complement the building, a large section of the plot will undergo a rewilding strategy, respecting the rural location and enhancing the local biodiversity.
