What our clients have to say...

There are many architectural details we love. The ‘fancy’ brickwork, which echoes patterns seen in many Moorlands buildings.

Matthew’s plan to imitate the form and size of two different buildings joined by a flat-roofed link gave us a house in three sections. Hence we are able to almost close-off the guest room when not in use, we have our quiet retreat and could find space for excellent boot, dog and cloakroom and a proper walk-in pantry.

Unexpectedly low energy consumption is a result of the SIPs construction, ASHP and UFH. The energy performance of the completed building exceeds that predicted by the SAP studies.

From the day we broke ground through to the after-build party, we could see that Arkhi felt an ‘ownership’ of our house and that it was important to them that we loved it.

More about Brookmere Barns

Sustainability is at the core, with a SIPs construction enabling open, triple-height spaces while maintaining energy performance. Heating is powered by an air source heat pump, paired with underfloor heating and a ventilation system tailored to each section.

Brookmere Barns seamlessly integrates historical inspiration with modern, eco-conscious design, offering a luxurious yet efficient retreat for the clients and their guests.

About Brookmere Barns

A contemporary reimagining of rural heritage, Brookmere Barns blends history with innovation. The design pays homage to the site’s agricultural past, featuring a masonry-style farmhouse connected to a steel-and-concrete barn, arranged in an L-shape around a sheltered courtyard.

The ‘house’ evokes Georgian aesthetics, with decorative red masonry and expansive open-plan living spaces oriented towards sweeping views of Staffordshire’s rolling hills. Meanwhile, the ‘barn’ provides guest accommodation, designed to be energy-efficient with the flexibility to scale down when unoccupied.
