Alderley Edge Architect

Alderley Edge is a village in Cheshire East, falling inside Cheshire's Golden Triangle.

Alderley Edge is amongst one of the most expensive and sought-after places to live in the UK outside of London and is known for its affluence and expensive houses. The area is notable for its heavily wooded streets and substantial villas, set in spacious gardens.

The 'Edge' is a reference to the physical geology in the area, a wide red sandstone escarpment, situated above Alderly village. The word edge is used in Cheshire and adjacent counties as a descriptive term for 'high land'. Other areas reflecting this term include Wenlock Edge and Blackstone Edge.

The Edge is owned by the National Trust and has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its unique geology. The wooded area of the Edge is popular with visitors, with the National Trust maintaining public access.
