Prescot, Merseyside

We were appointed as lead Architectural Consultant & Contract Administrator by Prescot Town Council to deliver the conversion of the Fusilier Public House into the new Prescot Town Hall.

We won the project by providing the client with a complete multi-disciplinary package that included a quantity surveyor, structural engineers, mechanical & electrical consultants, and all the building surveys.

The design provides a large public multi-functional space on the ground floor with two key 'shop windows' looking onto the street. We relocated the main entrance here so that it was better incorporated into its surroundings. This along with the hidden roller shutter which were designed to be invisible behind the aluminium window surrounds gained the support of the Knowsley Planning Officer.

On the first floor are the offices and council chamber where we installed a full-height slit window with views of the public.

In compliance with the approved documents the building envelope has been treated with an insulated render, new thermally broken aluminium windows, and an 8kw photovoltaic panel system on the south facing roof.
