Church Stretton, Shropshire
Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this existing 1960's bungalow was in need of renovation and extension in order to function for modern family life.
Our intention is to create an 'upside-down' house. All bedrooms and ancillary rooms will be situated on the existing ground floor, whilst the main living‐spaces will be located within the new first-floor extension - taking advantage of the stunning vistas across Church Stretton and the hills beyond.
The first-floor extension cantilevers to the front of the property. The cantilevered 'box' frames the views with full-height glazed units. To the rear, the building reaches out into the garden, providing a level decking area which helps navigate the split level and steep sloping nature of the landscaping.
Stage 3 – Spatial Coordination.
