Arkhi were appointed to develop a highly bespoke, single storey extension replacing an existing unused conservatory, in order to create the opportunity for the family dwelling to become a truly personal and tailored space.
We worked closely with the clients to identify their specific tastes and requirements, which helped us to deliver a characteristic addition to their home which reflected their individuality.
Stage 7 – In Use.
Externally, the extension is predominantly constructed from brick, however, a diagonal vertical timber boarding extension of the roof canopy adds a contemporary bespoke aesthetic, and hints at the green roof above.
The owners wanted to create a seamless transition between their internal and external living spaces, including allowing better access to an outdoor studio, situated close to the extended part of the house. They also wanted to enhance the quality of natural light in the existing kitchen area, through the insertion of a large rooflight into the flat roof of the adjacent extended section.
