Bolin Edge - Concept Exploration

Bolin Edge - Concept Exploration

We’re currently exploring the concept design for Bollin Edge, one of our latest residential projects located in Prestbury, Cheshire. The project focuses on working with an existing cottage, carefully considering how the home can evolve to meet modern living needs while retaining the charm and character that define the original building.

The early design stage is an important part of the process, allowing us to test ideas and explore different architectural approaches before moving forward with a final proposal. For Bollin Edge, the aim is to sensitively open up and extend the existing cottage, creating additional space for family living while ensuring the original form and identity of the building remain intact.

Rather than replacing what already exists, the concept seeks to build upon the strengths of the cottage. The proposed design explores ways to introduce more light, improved spatial connections, and carefully considered extensions that complement the scale and proportions of the original structure. This approach allows the home to grow in a way that feels both natural and respectful to its setting.

As the concept develops, particular attention is being given to how new interventions interact with the existing architecture, ensuring that the balance between old and new feels cohesive and intentional. The goal is to create a home that offers the functionality and openness required for contemporary family life, while preserving the character that makes the cottage unique.

This project is still in its early stages, and we look forward to sharing more as the design continues to evolve. Stay tuned for further updates as Bollin Edge progresses through the next phases of the design journey.
