The vision
Our clients envisioned a timeless forever family home nestled within the rolling Cheshire countryside, a home thoughtfully designed to embrace and celebrate its natural surroundings. Carefully positioned within the landscape, the house is orientated to capture sweeping panoramic views, creating a constant connection between the interior spaces and the beauty of the outdoors.

Carefully positioned within the landscape, the house is orientated to capture sweeping panoramic views, creating a constant connection between the interior spaces and the beauty of the outdoors.
The challenge
A key challenge was ensuring the new home sat naturally within the Cheshire landscape, drawing from the language, scale, and materiality of the existing cottage. The architecture balances contemporary living requirements with a sensitive approach to context, allowing the new intervention to feel both distinctive and rooted in place. Alongside the new-build elements, the project also involved the careful retrofit of the original cottage, upgrading its performance to align with the exceptional thermal standards of the new extension. The result is a cohesive and sustainable home that combines traditional character with modern comfort, crafted to support the clients throughout every stage of life.
