The vision
Our clients set out to transform two former piggery buildings into a five-bedroom home that celebrates the site’s original character while creating a modern, light-filled, and seamlessly transitional living space.
The vision
Our clients set out to transform two former piggery buildings into a five-bedroom home that celebrates the site’s original character while creating a modern, light-filled, and seamlessly transitional living space.
The challenge
The key challenge in this project was to design a connecting link between the two former piggeries that both respects their original character and introduces a contemporary aesthetic. The scheme also required sensitively retrofitting the existing structures and thoughtfully organising the internal layout to create open, flowing, and transitional living spaces.
The result
The result is a distinctive and characterful home that both recalls and responds to the site’s original purpose and existing structures. Contemporary elements introduce a modern sensibility while remaining sensitive to the building’s historic form. Throughout, the spaces maintain a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.
